Description
Emanuel Schulze uses two main elements in the construction of his paintings: architecture and landscape. Fascinated by geometry and colour, he places large futuristic buildings at the centre of the abstract and mysterious landscapes that make up his works. It is the contrast between the precision of the architectural elements and the softness and freedom of the landscapes that best characterises the artist's work.
Presentation
Emanuel Schulze's paintings plunge the viewer into a dreamlike world in which architecture and landscape are intimately linked. Also a scenographer, the artist is particularly interested in the planning of space. In his view, geometric shapes are essential because they structure and delimit our living world. Landscapes, on the other hand, are worked on with much more experimentation and without exact planning, leaving room for the imagination. These dreamlike interpretations of landscapes invite the viewer to contemplate and introspect. The colours chosen by the artist, sometimes bright, sometimes pastel, contribute to the meticulous construction of his paintings and form an integral part of them.
