Description
Work sold in excellent conditions.
This artwork presents a striking juxtaposition of a vividly blue, ethereal figure in a crouched position, set against an abstract, organic background. The figure's anatomy is meticulously detailed, showcasing musculature and form, with an otherworldly translucence that creates a spectral presence. The background contrasts with swirling, nebulous patterns in earthy tones of browns and blacks, evoking the depths of space or a microscopic environment. This dynamic interplay between the foreground and background suggests themes of isolation and exploration, inviting viewers to consider humanity's place within the vast, mysterious universe. The use of color and motion within the piece is powerful, as the blue figure appears both part of and separate from its environment. This artwork captures a moment of introspection, blending realism and abstraction, and encouraging deep contemplation.
Presentation
Gaka Mira is the stage name of Dominiek De Meulemeester, an artist born in 1970 in Belgium where he lives and works. His first solo exhibition was in 1996 at the Theatre PC Sint-Amandus in Belgium. Others also followed in Spain, Italy and France.
Reframing the human condition is the overal theme in his work. He is liberating people from the identity given by their social context. Poor or rich, homeless, refugees, businessmen,… isolated from the original context they regain humanity in it's purest form, immersed in a cosmic world.
