Description
This mesmerizing artwork commands attention with its vibrant interplay of color and form. A female figure, rendered in bold and fluid brushstrokes, basks in an ethereal, almost otherworldly glow. The artist employs a dynamic palette dominated by striking shades of blue, pink, and lavender, which not only breathe life into the subject but also evoke a sense of dreamlike fantasy. The use of contrasting hues creates a captivating tension, emphasizing the figure's contours and giving prominence to her poised posture. The background, with its abstract, shadowy forms, subtly frames the central figure without distracting from her prominence. This interplay of light and dark, vivid and subdued, highlights the artist's mastery in balancing complexity and simplicity. The exaggerated use of color on the figure's skin suggests movement and vitality, while also inviting contemplation of deeper emotions and narratives. The artist's deft handling of paint – with visible, confident strokes – lends a dynamic texture to the portrayal, making the scene almost tactile. The nuanced use of light and shadow not only sculpts the form but also imbues the painting with a mesmerizing depth, encouraging the viewer to delve into the abstract layers of its composition. Overall, this artwork stands as a testament to the power of color and form, uniting them in a visually arresting tableau that is as evocative as it is beautiful. Its abstract elements, coupled with the palpable energy of its execution, make it a unique and compelling piece that captivates and intrigues in equal measure.
Presentation
Kateryna Ocheredko is a virtuoso artist from Poland whose art is filled with vibrant colors and graphic expressiveness.
I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2012.
I work with various media, including linocut, silk screen printing, etching, acrylics, and oil paints.
Additionally, I create digital illustrations, paint animations, and mosaic compositions.
Depending on the idea, I select the technique and materials for a more expressive realization.
Since 2011, I have presented 9 solo exhibitions.
In 2021, I was honored to receive the "Silver Key" award from the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art. I have served as a painting supervisor and animator on the film "The Peasants," Poland's nominee for the Oscars in 2023. As a painter-animator, I contributed to the creation of the first feature-length animation film, "Loving Vincent," painted with oil, which was nominated for the Oscars and the Golden Globe in 2018.“
When I am working with the theme of corporeality, I work with live models and their emotions.
The sensations generated by the interaction between the artist and the model are conveyed through color and shapes.
