ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"In 'Reading Time' from my 'Madeleine' series, I delve into the intimate and transformative power of reading. This painting captures the serenity and absorption found in the act of reading, which not only provides an escape but also fosters a deeper connection with oneself. It reflects on how literature can act as a portal to other realms and times, enriching our lives with new perspectives and memories. Through this artwork, I invite viewers to ponder the quiet moments of reflection that reading affords us, and how these moments enrich our internal narrative, connecting our past experiences with present emotions and future aspirations."

MEDELEINE Series

The series of works “Madeleine" are the artist's reflections on the nature of time and memory, the ability of art to recreate the past and give it meaning.

The series is a deeply autobiographical study, where the artist asks questions about the nature of false memories, the ability of memory to correctly store stories, the ability of things and people to influence the perception of memory.

As in Proust's novel “In Search of Lost Time," where the taste of Madeleine becomes the key to the invisible rooms of the past, each painting by the artist is a gateway to personal memories that mix with fictitious images, evoking a feeling of either déjà vu or reality, a subtle but always vivid anticipation .

In the Madeleine series, the artist reveals an abundance of emotions and experiences, and, like Proust, uses art as a means to recreate the past, giving it new meaning and new value. Each work is a dialogue between the present and the past, between the external world and the internal space of memory.
