"Guided in the storm" tells the story of the crossing of a fragile sailboat in the heart of a rough sea, guided by its own light.
This mixed media painting is composed of natural materials associated with drawing:
The small boat, drawn in dry pastels and then cut out, sails under a sky in a gradient of colored natural sands. The clouds are made of cotton, and the waves are composed of many torn paper fragments, which create a dense and moving texture.
The work evokes those moments when everything seems unstable and chaotic, and when one must draw on one's own strength to keep moving forward.
it speaks of courage, perseverance, and the inner strength necessary to weather trials.
The work is carefully varnished and sold in its wooden frame, without glass.
Description
"Guided in the storm" is a mixed media work measuring 40 × 40 cm that tells the story of the crossing of a small sailboat in the heart of a rough sea, keeping its course under the protective light of the moon.
Keeping course despite the turmoil
Caught between immense waves and a heavy sky, the sailboat appears fragile, almost minuscule, but it continues to move forward. "Guided in the storm" evokes those moments in life when everything seems unstable, when one progresses without clearly seeing the outcome. The moon then becomes a silent landmark, a reassuring presence watching in the darkness. The work speaks of courage, perseverance, and inner confidence: even in the midst of chaos, a light remains, strong enough to help traverse the ordeal.
A sea built by superimpositions
The composition mixes a meticulous collage of natural materials and elements from the visual arts. Natural sands, used raw or colored by hand, give the sky and atmosphere their particular grain, while cotton forms the heavy and foamy clouds. The boat is made from an original drawing in dry pastels, cut out and then integrated into the scene. The waves are composed of many torn paper fragments, superimposed in different shades of blue, turquoise, white, and black to create their movement and power.
An immersion in the heart of the elements
From afar, the gaze is caught by the momentum of the waves encircling the boat. Up close, the work reveals a dense and moving texture: the fibers of the cotton, the grain of the sand, the tears in the paper, and the variations of the drawing build an almost palpable surface. One imagines the wind, the roar of the water, the humidity of the air, and the pitching of the sailboat. The composition provides an immediate, raw, and instinctive sensation, as if one were oneself in the middle of the storm, while keeping eyes fixed on the light.
A strong and poetic work, to welcome into one's home as a symbol of resilience, hope, and confidence in the journey.

Creating offers me a space and time to channel my feelings into matter. To embody and transcend them, I shape small, sensitive, and organic universes that tell their stories.
Mixed media have always appealed to me. They are multifaceted and rich, existing between accident and harmony. My collages are creative acts of reconciling my ambivalences.
The infinite complexity of Nature fascinates me. In its image, and on my own scale, I try to link precision and abundance in my works.
I climb the tree structure, exploring and tracing its multiplicity, details, and connections. I create meticulous compositions. Then I plunge back into the material and let it guide my hands.
Sands, flowers, feathers, bark, algae and lichens, papers and fibers… Pieces of nature that I gather, classify, and accumulate. Raw materials from which I draw to create. Rough or velvety, vibrant or subtle, thick or transparent.
I color my own sands, press and dry the flowers and foliage, and create paper shapes using a small digital cutter.
My drawings, watercolors or pastels, once cut out, become part of the whole.
I assemble all these elements in balance around my emotions. Like a flurry of suspended notes, which come to find their place in the score.
Each work is a harmony.
