Description
This vibrant artwork presents an eclectic collage celebrating the essence of New York City, aptly titled "The City of Dreams NYC." Dominating the scene is a glamorous figure reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in her iconic black dress and updo, exuding timeless elegance. Surrounding her is an explosion of color and iconic imagery that captures the city's dynamic character. The background is a tapestry of quintessential New York symbols. The majestic Statue of Liberty rises prominently, symbolizing freedom and the city's welcoming spirit. Behind the main figure, the recognizable skyline, featuring emblems of architectural brilliance, subtly integrates the Empire State Building, casting a spell of urban allure. In the forefront, a cheerful snowman wearing a New York Yankees cap adds a whimsical touch, bridging urban sophistication with playful charm. This playful inclusion underscores the harmonious blend of tradition and lightheartedness that defines New York. Notably, the artwork incorporates a splash of graffiti-style text, proclaiming phrases like "I Love New York" alongside stylized renditions of the city's name. This graffiti element infuses a contemporary urban edge, reinforcing the city's reputation as a hub of artistic innovation and vibrant street culture. A lovable depiction of a famous bear character also appears, wrapped in a colorful scarf, inviting a sense of warmth and nostalgia. This character further enhances the collage's multicultural appeal, representing the city's diversity and universal allure. Bold strokes and a palette of bright colors intensify the energetic vibe, evoking the city's pulsating heartbeat and endless possibilities. This artwork not only captures iconic imagery but also encapsulates the spirit and dreams of New York City, making it a dynamic homage to one of the world's most beloved metropolises.
Presentation
Yasna Godovanik is a pop art/street art artist. She was born in 1988 and raised in a family that encouraged art and creativity. She knew at a very young age that art was her life goal, especially painting, and on completing high school she continued her art schooling, specializing in painting, and in particular miniature paintings that earned her many awards in international competitions.
After completing her studies she joined the artist collective Art Hive, which offered workshops to the public, and organized many successful art projects and group shows.
The act of contemplation of a mandala creates a sense of balance and focus, calming and reassuring, offering an uplifting sense of peace. Yasna uses the mandala as a force of inspiration and artistic expression in her artworks.
She creates complicated patterns of color combinations in her paintings, maintaining a harmony of color and lines that are uniquely her expression and artistic statement. While she mainly works in acrylic and aquarelle paintings, she has created a series of metal wall sculptures and paper cuts that highlight her drawing skills and her brilliant sense of color.
Since the beginning of 2021 Yasna is based in Prague, and her art is represented exclusively by the Katie Feygie Art Gallery. The Katie Feygie Art Gallery ensures the originality, exclusivity, and authenticity of each of the artworks.
