Description
The painting "Ribbons" is a dichotomous image that evokes ambiguous associations. At first glance, it's hard to tell if it's a chain-link fence, common in industrial areas, or the silky upholstery of a sofa. Decoration with ribbons suggests the upholstery of soft furniture that radiates comfort and ornamentation.
This visual contrast reflects the paradox of life: things are not always what they seem. In many cases, it is our perception that determines how we interpret a situation - with coldness and detachment or with warmth and acceptance.
