Description
This captivating artwork reveals a vibrant portrait, using the stencil technique to capture the essence of its subject. The shimmering gold background enhances the mystery and elegance of the central figure, crowned and serene. The bold colors, ranging from deep shades of black and brown to bright bursts of white and yellow, create a striking contrast that immediately draws the eye. The splashes of paint and flowing lines add a modern and energetic dynamic to the work. Each brushstroke and color are carefully chosen to evoke an aura of majesty and modernity. This exceptional piece is distinguished by its artful blend of urban and classical techniques, symbolizing a harmony between tradition and contemporaneity.
Presentation
In the early 1990s, Jean-Michel Lourenço performed alongside rock bands: during their set, he painted on stretched canvases in a figurative style inspired by H.R. GIGER.
Himself a guitarist in several punk-rock groups for nearly 20 years, Jean-Michel Lourenço has always drawn his inspiration from music.
After a stint at the Beaux Arts in BESANCON, where he learned the different techniques of engraving, he began to paint canvases inspired by jazz and cinema.
He makes portraits in oil, stencil and also mixes the two techniques.
In a more Pop Art style, he creates canvases using torn posters.
Jean-Michel Lourenço also produced several frescoes adorning buildings in the town of VESOUL.
