Description
SERB 1134
The painting titled "Forest Road" captures a peaceful scene of a narrow path winding through a tall, sunlit pine forest. The composition draws the viewer into the depth of the forest, inviting them to imagine the fresh scent of pine, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and the tranquility of walking through nature. The painting is a celebration of the beauty and serenity of the natural world, encouraging viewers to reconnect with nature and find peace in its quiet embrace. The central focus of the painting is the row of tall, straight pine trees that stretch upward toward the sky. The trunks of the trees are painted in warm orange and red hues, suggesting that the scene takes place during the golden hours of the day, either in the early morning or late afternoon. The sunlight filters through the trees, casting dappled light on the forest floor and creating a play of light and shadow that adds depth and dimension to the composition.
The path, painted in soft beige and pink tones, leads the viewer's eye through the painting, creating a sense of movement and inviting them to explore the peaceful forest. The pathway curves gently, disappearing into the distance, suggesting that there is more to discover beyond what is immediately visible. This detail evokes a sense of mystery and adventure, reminding viewers that nature is full of hidden treasures waiting to be explored. The forest floor is painted with vibrant greens and yellows, contrasting beautifully with the cooler blues and purples of the tree trunks and leaves. The thick, textured brushstrokes used to depict the foliage create a sense of lushness and vitality, emphasizing the abundance of life in the forest. The dense foliage in the background adds to the feeling of being surrounded by nature, creating a calming and immersive atmosphere. In the distance, patches of bright green suggest an open field or a clearing, where sunlight breaks through the canopy of trees. This glimpse of open space adds a sense of hope and light to the painting, symbolizing the idea that there is always light at the end of the path, even in the depths of the forest.
Through "Forest Road," the artist conveys a message of peace, solitude, and the restorative power of nature. The painting invites viewers to take a break from their busy lives, step into the quiet embrace of the forest, and find solace in the natural world. The winding path symbolizes the journey of life, with its twists and turns, and the importance of taking time to appreciate the beauty of the world around us.The painting evokes a sense of calm and contemplation, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own paths and find inspiration in the simplicity and serenity of nature. Ultimately, "Forest Road" is a reminder of the timeless beauty of the natural world and the peace that can be found in its quiet moments. It encourages viewers to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the world outside.
Presentation
Born in 1960 in Konotop, Sumy Region, Ukraine.
1984 - Graduated from Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School (Department of Art and Graphics).
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, painting and wood carving instructor, artist-designer.
Held the position of Chief Artist in Konotop.
Since 2000 - Independent artist.
Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
