Description
This work depicts two young women with flaming red hair, enveloped in a soft and ethereal atmosphere. The pastel background reinforces the dreamlike effect of the scene, while two cockatoos with white feathers add a dimension of purity and mystery. The woman in the background, dressed in a vaporous dress, has a pensive expression, suggesting a deep connection with the birds. The second, in the foreground, displays long and flowing hair, capturing the subtle movement of the wind. Her melancholic and intense gaze adds an emotional dimension to the whole. The composition perfectly masters the play of light and textures, making every detail alive and palpable. The birds, delicately posed, seem to be silent messengers, linking nature to humanity. This painting offers an intimate and poetic exploration of the invisible links between man and animal.
Presentation
Born in 1962 in France, Sophie Morisse studied in Rouen. She is specialized in figurative art and her main model is her daughter Thaïs (10 years old). Her favorite theme is the childhood and the tales.. She followed Philippe Garel's courses in Beaux Art of Rouen until 1987.
Figurative painting is the obvious choice for her. The workmanship of her works or even the choice of her framing, reminds those of Edgar Degas or Les nfantes of Vélasquez. In her paintings, she shows childhood moments, without ambiguity, by recapturing tales that are at the same time timeless, cruel and charming. Sophie Morisse's paintings seem to be a rewriting.
With a lot of subtlety and humor, Sophie Morisse's works mention childhood and wake up childish souls.
