Description
“The Gods also sometimes grieve" is the series that opens the year 2024 for Julie Ruelle. In these paintings, we invite you to delve into the emotional heart of the Gods with this captivating work. A harmonious blend of bright colors and flowing shapes brings to life a composition that challenges traditional perception. In the center, a striking eye, representing the window of the soul, stares at the viewer and seems to cry a tear in which a solitary sailboat is reflected. This detail suggests an introspective look into the unknown or a quest for freedom. The organic shapes evoking plants or corals seem to dance around, injecting life and mobility that contrast with the introspective depth of the eye. Perfect for sparking conversation and introspection, this piece will be an impressive addition to any collection, inviting a meditation on the complex nature of human emotion and perception.
Presentation
Julie Ruelle is a French artist who lives between Creuse and Herault.
With a degree in philosophy and literature, she successively became an engineer, a teacher of French and later of philosophy. She enrolled in the Heddle and Tapestry Arts training in Aubusson in 2016 with the aim of becoming a weaver artist.
Julie Ruelle's work consists of paintings, tapestries, engravings and books. She tells stories of the sea and plant life. The works respond to each other and work together to give substance to a love story whose narrative thread is that of sorrow.
