Description
This artwork showcases a close-up portrait emphasizing a single, expressive green eye against a subtly textured skin. The artist's technique captures intricate details, revealing depth in the eye's gaze, drawing viewers into a moment of introspective thought. The surrounding skin is depicted with a realistic blend of warm tones, adding to the richness of the expression. Unique to this piece are elegant, swirling inscriptions in delicate white script, overlaying the image. These words suggest themes of introspection, possibly probing beauty's subjective nature. The interplay between text and image adds a dynamic layer, prompting contemplation beyond the visual. The artwork masterfully combines realistic portraiture with abstract elements, creating a captivating dialogue on perception and identity.

Artist Statement
In the way that a poet would seek to understand language with the goal of approaching the sublime, I have tried to understand painting with similar purpose. The ability to move beyond the literal towards a truth. The tools of a painter are akin to that of a poet, words and their placement, language and its rhythm. I am painting poems, images that dance between realism and abstraction, text and flesh, with the hope that the viewer experiences rather than views.
