Description
Unique original acrylic painting on cotton canvas with a varnish-coated finish. Sold stretched and ready to hang, on a wooden frame.
“Stupeflip" takes its name from the cult French band and nods to Casimir, the iconic 1970s French children's TV character. Inspired by the song “West Région's Inquisitors", where Cadillac recalls finding Casimir hanging empty on a wall — the disturbing explanation he was given, and the essential questions it raised — Thomas offers his own interpretation: Casimir unmasked, revealing a skull beneath. A playful yet slightly off fusion of childhood cheer and memento mori, true to the spirit of Stupeflip.

Presentation
Thomas Patin is a French artist born and working in Lille. His work is inspired by the icons who influenced youth born in the 1970s and immersed in the television culture of the 1980s. Yet, Tom's work goes far beyond a simple nod to pop culture. Each of his works offers a unique and personal interpretation of the "secret" lives of these iconic figures, opening a door to his rich, colorful, and kaleidoscopic imagination, and provoking reflection and emotional resonance in the viewer.
