Katharina Hormel is a German contemporary artist known for her minimalist paintings that capture the beauty of everyday moments with striking simplicity. Her work portrays familiar scenes such as park strolls, cycling, soccer games, and snowboarding in mountain landscapes. While seemingly ordinary, these moments take on a deeper meaning in her paintings, highlighting the small yet significant experiences that shape human connection and personal well-being.

With a background in educational sciences and psychology, Hormel brings a unique perspective to her art. She holds degrees in psychology and works as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, an experience that deeply informs her creative vision. This dual expertise allows her to convey emotions of joy, tranquility, and mindfulness in her paintings. Her artistic approach is defined by clean compositions and a refined color palette, evoking a sense of peace and contemplation. Influenced by figurative abstraction, she also creates vibrant geometric representations of the female form, where patches of color interact and overlap dynamically.

Hormel's work has gained international recognition, attracting collectors from the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and across Europe. She is represented by several galleries, including Folly & Muse, where she also serves as a gallery director.

Recently, Katharina Hormel has continued to expand her artistic reach with new series that explore themes of human connection and emotional resilience. Her latest works experiment with layered textures and subtle color shifts, reinforcing her signature minimalist aesthetic. She remains active in the contemporary art scene, regularly exhibiting in group and solo shows while engaging with her audience through social media, where she shares behind-the-scenes insights into her creative process. As demand for her limited-edition pieces continues to grow, her presence in the international art market strengthens, solidifying her reputation as a sought-after artist.
