Description
This vibrant and surreal work represents a parody of a well-known animated character, reinterpreted in a humorous and offbeat way. The artist uses bright colors to accentuate the contrast between the character's playful appearance and his melancholic expression. The character's bold surface texture, composed of bubbles and organic patterns, evokes the aquatic world in which he lives. The diverse elements, such as the flashy red shoes and the bottle, add a contemporary and ironic dimension to the scene. Bubbles float around him, reinforcing the idea of a timeless aquatic universe. The work's original and dynamic composition immediately captures the viewer's attention, inviting the viewer to explore the intricate details and subtle emotions it evokes. It is a thought-provoking yet entertaining piece, a testament to the artist's creative talent.
Presentation
If the appearance of the world is revealed in its aesthetic, media, calculated, ordered, corrected form,
in short, erected under the yoke of artifice ... it is then obvious that our role is to cleanse the right-thinking varnish of
this mess and to highlight: a hybrid world, monstrous, deformed, bloody, hairy and cuckold ... in short,
our world !
We remain the creatures of a guy called God or Jean-Luc? ... If we have to be on our knees, let's stand up,
if to be Adam and Eve let's be Bonnie and Clide, if to be beautiful let's be ugly, if to be tidy let's be
messy, if we have to be lucid let's be drunk, if we have ankles, advocate sprains, if we like dough, choose lumps, if there are good ones we prefer idiots! ...
It is on this kind of "idiocy (s) of the real" that Gilen balances and invests an imaginary, mountebank, and visionary world. In short, a permanent world ...
An absurd and burlesque approach, Gilen caricatures the superficial to better consent to the depth. The painting
remains for him a zone of temporary reflection which staggers on (im) perfect territories! These portraits mixed in universal disorder, from “filthy” to bucados, including Dionysos and Carlos, there is only one time: that of the living. Gilen is alive and seems to be alive for a long time, just to piss us off! Cocktail of humor, molotovs, rhythms and looks ... Gilen is there ... The petits fours are already burnt! ... And ... Boom !!! ....
