La nube que ilumina, 2025

Alec Franco

This abstract artwork features a dynamic composition set against a vibrant yellow background. Various geometric and organic shapes interlock and overlap, creating a sense of depth and movement. A bold mix of colors, including deep blues, greens, and pinks, contribute to the painting's energetic rhythm. Intriguingly, forms resembling cut-out windows and tangled lines inject an element of mystery and complexity. A prominent diagonal line slices through the canvas, guiding the viewer's eye across the piece. The juxtaposition of smooth and textured surfaces adds to the overall intrigue, encouraging prolonged observation. This work challenges traditional perspectives and invites multiple interpretations, making it a captivating focal point in any space.

Franco's work plays between the limit and the no limit, imagining the idea of macro universes and micro cosmos, combining them in the same space, mixing, separating and uniting dimensions. It is through the presence of color, combined with an abstraction sometimes with expressionist and many other surreal overtones, where his work expands in various formats and supports (acrylics, oils, pastels, charcoal, asphalt paint, synthetic enamel, on canvas, paper, wood and steel) transiting mixed materialities that overlap, crushing the apparent figures against heterogeneous backgrounds. Franco's work plays between the limit and the no limit, imagining the idea of macro universes and micro cosmos, combining them in the same space, mixing, separating and uniting dimensions."
