Description
While maintaining a lively line and free movement, his graphic works are a perfect balance between refined and sophisticated work at the same time.
“I have always been interested in transcribing emotions through postures, looks or attitudes that appeal to me. What I seek above all is to challenge the spectator so that he can tell part of “his" story through the portrait of an anonymous person who touches him."
To convey this power and spontaneity, Sébastien Allart works with markers on acrylic-painted canvases. The work is done directly on the canvas without any preparatory work, allowing for more freedom of movement.
This striking work captures the essence of human expression through dynamic, abstract pencil strokes. The artist used swirling lines to form a person's face, enriched with intricate details. The hair, styled naturally and voluminous, is rendered with bold curves, creating a vibrant texture. A stylized headband encircles the head, adding a touch of elegance. Large hoop earrings draw the eye, while layered necklaces accentuate the subject's sophistication. The use of black and white gives the whole a timeless quality and evokes an introspective depth. This work transcends the boundaries of conventional portraiture, celebrating diversity and individual beauty.
Presentation
Born in 1976, Sébastien Allart lives and works in Aix-en-Provence.
He begins to exhibit locally on various artists' markets and is spotted by France 3 television to illustrate a series of documentary films.
By successive strokes supported or sketched, wavy or angular, deployed or tightened, the works of Sebastien Allart give you the look he has on the real or imagined world, a world essentially in black and white. From his instinctive lines where the gaze triumphs, he lets an emotional charge escape, this charge which animates him and which he offers to the art lover.
His artistic work earned him to be in many galleries and contemporary art fairs.
