Description
This mixed media work on 300g paper is inspired by the textures and hidden geometries of abandoned industrial spaces, where rust, ruin and silence evoke fading memory. Drawing on many sites across Central Europe where I photographed industrial environments, I am fascinated by their structures, geometric forms, textures, neglect and decay. The resulting surfaces feel excavated rather than painted.
A transparent semi-gloss varnish protects and enriches the work, ensuring durability while preserving its unique tactile quality. The piece is titled and signed on the back.
Please note: colours may vary slightly between screens and the original artwork. For buyers outside the UK, all local customs duties and taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.
As an abstract artist, I use perspective, geometry and material contrasts to deconstruct scenes and reconstruct them into a personal visual language. My work combines forms, colours, patterns, textures and materials to create visually rich, suggestive objects that invite viewers to engage their imagination and interpret the work in their own way.
Presentation
Petr Strnad is a contemporary artist whose work investigates essential concepts of art through the language of abstraction.
For Petr art making is an ongoing exploration of its limits to express a vision of intuitive inspiration.
Using paintings, new media, photography or collage his work explores art as a poetic space. Petr uses a variety traditional and experimental techniques in a playful way to break down the fragile boundary between visible and invisible.
