Liubou Sas (born in 1988 in Ostrovets, Belarus) is a contemporary painter artist currently based in Bakuriani, Georgia. She began painting in 2017, developing a unique artistic language that merges expressionism and impressionism, with a strong focus on the female figure as both subject and emotional medium. Her work delves into inner states, gestures, and archetypes of femininity, conveyed through rich textures and bold brushwork.

A self-taught painter, Liubou Sas built her artistic identity outside of formal institutions, refining her style through independent research, museum visits, and immersion in modern and contemporary art history. Her technique is distinguished by vibrant palettes, layered surfaces, and expressive strokes. She refers to her signature approach as “washed stone”, where delicate feminine imagery contrasts with deliberately raw textures, creating a striking visual tension.

Working primarily with oil and acrylic on canvas or wood, often on a large scale, Sas creates emotionally resonant compositions. Her narrative explores themes of sacred femininity, introspection, and personal identity in a rapidly changing world.

Since the beginning of her career, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally, and her works are now part of private collections in over twenty countries, including in Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. She has also received several artistic awards.

Liubou Sas represents a new generation of female contemporary artists, blending technical skill, visual poetry, and symbolic depth to produce powerful and intuitive artworks that continue to evolve.
