Description
This artwork masterfully captures a brooding, atmospheric landscape, infused with a rich tapestry of greens, yellows, and grays. The composition evokes an impending storm, with a dense, swirling sky that dominates the upper portion of the canvas. The artist employs bold brushstrokes to create textured clouds, imbuing a sense of movement and urgency. In contrast, the foreground is an intricate blend of dark foliage and subtle earthy tones, hinting at a windswept terrain. This dichotomy between the sky and land enhances the dramatic tension of the scene. The evocative use of light breaking through the clouds creates a sense of depth, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the ominous yet captivating atmosphere. Overall, the artwork stands out for its dynamic interplay of color and texture, skillfully conveying the raw power of nature.
Presentation
Influenced by his experience in Africa, the artist got interested in body language and emotional behavior, their interaction and distortion. The artist is a fan of surfing, therefore ocean is a recurring theme. He studies and transcribes the way the rhythm of the ocean joins in with the body. For Simon, this is a new experience which he likes to share with the spectators who are stuck in a world where one questions space and time.
Simon lives and works in Somerset.
