Description
This minimalist work, executed in the style of line art, captivates with its conciseness and depth. Two faces, as if emerging from a black-and-white haze, gaze at us from the canvas, each with its own story, each with its own unique expression.
The black-and-white palette creates an atmosphere of restraint and elegance, allowing us to focus on the essence – on the lines, the shapes, and the unspoken. But it is here, in this monochrome harmony, that vibrant orange accents emerge. They are like sparks of life breaking through the silence, adding passion, warmth and unexpected energy to the picture. Orange here is not just a color, it's an emotion, it's a pulse, it's a call for attention.
The special charm of this painting lies in its tactility. The artist masterfully used textures that not only attract the eye, but also beckon to touch. You can feel the roughness of the lines, the smoothness of the transitions, and the depth of the shadows under your fingers. This makes the work come alive.
Presentation
ASTRA PASTA is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice centers on the emotional and psychological dimensions of human experience. Known for her bold, expressive portrait-based abstractions, she transforms the face into a vessel for inner states: tension, fragility, resilience, and unfiltered feeling. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, she builds compositions through instinctive gesture, dynamic movement, and a deeply intuitive approach to color.
A self-taught artist, ASTRA PASTA has developed a visual language that resists strict formal constraints. Her process is rooted in spontaneity: each painting unfolds as a raw emotional dialogue, shaped by the interplay between control and release, chaos and equilibrium. Her abstracted faces emerge not as literal representations, but as mirrors of the subconscious—maps of emotion that invite introspection.
Her works have entered private collections internationally, resonating with collectors who seek art that speaks directly to the inner world rather than to external narratives. ASTRA PASTA's canvases act as portals into emotional states both universal and deeply personal, prompting viewers to confront their own internal landscapes.
In her artistic practice, she explores the balance between instinct and structure, embracing the fluid, shifting nature of identity and feeling. Through her work, ASTRA PASTA examines what it means to experience life in its full emotional spectrum—encountering vulnerability and strength, disorder and harmony. Her paintings offer not just visual impact but a profound invitation to understand the human condition.
