Description
This painting is not merely an image, but a ritual of memory. Here, farewell becomes a bridge between worlds: the father has already left forever, crossed the river Styx, and meeting is no longer possible. Yet the touch of my forehead against his face is the last attempt to hold onto his scent, his warmth, his breath — to remember him forever.
Farewell can take many forms: loud or quiet, visible or hidden. In this canvas it is filled with silence and light, where a gesture becomes the final word, and closeness the final breath. The painting transforms personal loss into a universal experience: every viewer recognizes within it their own moment of parting, their own pain and tenderness.
Presentation
Helen Spoon, a painter with a background in open studio practice, works primarily with oil and acrylic, believing in art's accessibility and sincerity. She masterfully blends symbolism, surrealism, expressionism, and impressionism, using technique and medium to match each mood—acrylic for spontaneity, oil for emotional depth. Her artworks evoke profound emotions, offering viewers a space where vulnerability and inner resonance can be sincerely experienced.
