The Oil painting Cardboard titled "Trees above the river" captures the tranquil beauty of nature with striking texture and vibrant tones, offering a scene that feels both peaceful and full of life. Executed with broad, expressive strokes, the painting conveys the artist's intimate connection with the landscape, where trees stand proudly on the banks of a quiet river, their branches leaning toward the water as if drawn by its reflective calmness. The palette is dominated by lush greens, earthy browns, and subtle golden hues, with occasional touches of cool blues that suggest the gentle play of light across the surface of the water and sky. In the foreground, the river itself becomes the anchor of the composition, rendered with layered strokes of green, blue, and hints of ochre. The water does not appear perfectly smooth but instead textured, reflecting the surrounding vegetation in an impressionistic dance of colors. Its surface seems alive, with darker patches hinting at depth and lighter tones catching the shimmer of daylight. The use of thick impasto highlights the tactile qualities of the medium, making the river look almost tangible, as if the viewer could reach out and feel the ripples and currents. The left side of the composition is dominated by a large tree with branches that twist upward and outward, painted in dark, earthy reds and browns. Its trunk and limbs seem strong yet dynamic, an organic structure rooted firmly in the ground but constantly reaching toward the sky. The foliage of this tree is thick and varied in tone, a mix of dark emerald greens, olive, and patches of brighter, almost neon highlights that convey the play of sunlight filtering through the leaves. The brushstrokes are vigorous and layered, adding dimension and vitality to the tree's crown. To the right, the composition softens into a cluster of golden and beige leaves, suggesting trees that are either touched by autumn or illuminated by warm sunlight. The contrast between the cooler greens of the left and the warmer tones on the right introduces balance and harmony into the piece. These golden strokes, broad and confident, are juxtaposed with the more intricate details of the foliage, lending the scene a rhythm that alternates between density and openness, shadow and light.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
