Description
From Far unfolds like a sensitive cartography of the invisible. The materials—fragmented gold leaf, natural pigments, grape marc, and charcoal—create a vibrant, almost telluric surface, where light seems to circulate through the fissures. These cracks are not ruptures, but passages: they reveal an energy in motion, an ancient memory surfacing.
The palette, dominated by blues, golds, and mineral hues, evokes both the cosmos and inner depths. One has the feeling of observing something that comes from afar, beyond known space, yet resonates intimately within us. The work acts less as an image than as a transmission: it supports, envelops, and invites expansion, in an almost meditative experience.
Channelled painting, From Far does not seek to represent, but to connect — the distant and the near, the material and the subtle, the universe and consciousness.
Presentation
Charlotte Orel is a painter whose works are a translation of the way in which she understands nature, life, the cosmos. To bring perceptions back to matter, she uses natural materials, such as ashes, coal, earth, sand, grape marc, which she collects during her expeditions around the planet. There is a whole work of preparing the raw material which is completely part of the creation of the canvas: it mixes, grinds, filters, before being able to create natural paints. And what is painted on the canvas is channeled, that is to say not of the order of the mind. There is a meditative phase beforehand as well.Once the painting is on the canvas, to present certain paintings, she paints her body, dances, and creates animations and video montages. It is like a tool in the service of Life.
