Description
Jazz has always influenced painters. Fernand Léger dedicated numerous paintings to jazz. Otto Dix, whose magnificent Metropolis is exhibited at the Musée du Quai-Branly. Conceptual artist David Hammons created an installation dedicated to John Coltrane. Jean-Michel Basquiat, a jazz enthusiast, painted over 30 canvases in tribute to Charlie Parker or Billie Holiday. Yet here, I did not want to paint jazz bands or musicians.
Just like Kandinsky, it was truly the music itself that was meant to articulate my entire creation on canvas. This piece was painted while listening to jazz for a long period; for me, it was about freely transcribing the music I heard. Thus, there are instruments, sounds, a melody, and a specific rhythmic accompaniment. A work full of energy that will be appreciated as much by an abstract art lover as by a jazz enthusiast.
Presentation
A professional artist since 1995, Eric Winzenried lives in western France. Passionate about landscapes, both real and imagined, he has made them the heart of his work. His exploration of color and synthesis has naturally led him to contemporary landscape painting, while maintaining a high standard of quality in his creations. His series are resolutely abstract, where contemplation and aesthetics take center stage. For him, landscape is much more than a subject: it is a space of freedom where color becomes a language. Convinced of the influence of color on the body and mind, he crafts creations imbued with harmony, offering a unique visual and emotional experience.
