Description
This captivating portrait depicts a large feline, likely a puma, with striking intensity. The animal's penetrating golden eyes gaze at the viewer with remarkable depth, evoking both power and wisdom. The texture of the fur, rendered with subtle shades of brown, beige, and black, offers impressive realism. The artist's technique is distinguished by the expert use of shadows that accentuate the feline's majestic features, particularly its muzzle and pointed ears. The neutral background highlights the central figure, reinforcing its aura of mystery and awe. Each brushstroke seems calculated to convey the animal's untamed essence, making this work a celebration of nature, both fierce and graceful.
Presentation
Nicole Lavigne was born in Manchester, England.
She spent part of her childhood in Central Africa, which allowed her to develop a sensitive and amazed view of the local population as well as the equatorial flora and African fauna.
After many years in the Paris region, she now lives and works in Saint-Bardoux in the Drôme, still influenced by Africa and its colours.
Portraits of humans and wild animals, elements of nature: the intensity and power of his works magnify the evocation of the vulnerability of populations in the Southern Hemisphere as well as of animal species threatened with extinction.
The artist, devoted to nature and living things, produces numerous paintings bearing her personal values in the background: on the canvas, she claims, defends and attracts attention with her tools and her talent.
Nicole Lavigne, a committed artist, tirelessly explores questions about the future and the ability of humans to protect nature and the beings who live side by side with it in total interdependence. It is through her brushes that the artist denounces the evils inflicted by living conditions on Earth on Humanity and Mother Nature. Her works are odes to beauty that sound like alerts to signify suffering; her portraits are as many silent cries placed on the canvas, intense colors that do not hide the dangers of today's world.
