Description
'Quiet Tension' series is an A2 size abstract acrylic mixed media painting on 300g acrylic paper.
Titled and signed on the back.
Unframed. This artwork is not prepared for instant hanging.
This piece explores the dynamic relationship between structure and spontaneity. Bold geometric forms establish a sense of order and stability, while layered, gestural lines introduce movement and unpredictability. The contrast between control and chaos creates a quiet tension, where the composition feels both deliberate and delicately unsettled.
As an abstract artist, I focus on the use of perspective and geometric reduction to deconstruct visual elements, which I then reconstruct into a personal, intuitive painting language. Forms, colours, patterns, and textures interact to form a visually rich and open-ended composition. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work invites interpretation, leaving space for the viewer's imagination to engage and complete the image.
Please note that colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings and may differ from the original artwork.
Presentation
Petr Strnad is a contemporary artist whose work investigates essential concepts of art through the language of abstraction.
For Petr art making is an ongoing exploration of its limits to express a vision of intuitive inspiration.
Using paintings, new media, photography or collage his work explores art as a poetic space. Petr uses a variety traditional and experimental techniques in a playful way to break down the fragile boundary between visible and invisible.
