Description
This artwork is a bold still life, marked by striking contrasts and a structured composition. The various objects, such as the elegantly curved blue vase and the orange bottle, stand out sharply against a green table. In the center, a white milk jug, resting on a tray, draws the eye with its refined simplicity. In the background, a fireplace mantel adds unexpected depth, creating a subtle interplay of perspectives. Soft light emanates from cigarette smoke in an ashtray, instilling a sense of life into this still life. Each element, though disparate, harmonizes, reflecting a masterful use of color and form. The artist captures the essence of ordinary objects, transfiguring them into a visually captivating scene where the mundane becomes art. This painting embodies the quiet elegance and complexity of everyday objects.
Presentation
After graduating with a baccalaureate in Fine Arts and studying art history, Pascal Perrin enrolled at the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d'art-Olivier de Serres and became a mold maker and sculptor at the Airaind'art foundry in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse. His work focused on molding and enlarging sculptures.
In 1994, he completed a course in fresco restoration in Upper Corsica and Italy.
In 1997, he joined the Wildenstein Institute to contribute to the creation of the catalogue raisonné of Vlaminck, followed by those of Renoir and Monet.
