Presentation

Richard Trian's work is experienced as a spiritual operation because all the images he presents are poetic in nature. They allow us to humanize the forces of the cosmos, ultimately leading to a true cosmology of humanity.

The spiritual life that dominates his work results from this action of making things grow, of elevating them.

This is why the painter's images are purely poetic, like those of the poet Shelley, for whom they are all comparable to "".

Dynamic images that uplift, lighten our load, lift us up and transcend us.

The aerial dimension shines through surprisingly in Richard Trian's work, despite the tangle of forms and the strong intensity of the colours he uses.

What he offers us is a dreamlike journey. An aerial journey on waves, in a boat rocked in an ocean, caressed and sometimes battered by the waves.

Similarly, Richard Trian's poetics draws on all the natural elements such as water, earth, fire, wind…

His inspiration from urban culture and his attraction to the "beyond black" of a Soulages often lead him to use colors that explode like dynamite with dense, compact and electric forms.

Certainly, the artist needs to mark his territory with a very expressive or even violent painting in order to actually access a completely different dimension, that of interiority and meditation.

The painter embraces this paradox as his personal imprint, his own identity.

He does not idealize the spectacle of nature but absorbs it to expand the world through his own world, beyond all limits.
