Description
This captivating artwork is a dynamic explosion of color and abstract form. Broad brushstrokes create fluid, energetic movement across the canvas, evoking a sense of spontaneity and freedom. Shades of purple, yellow, blue, and green meet and intertwine, forming a harmonious and vibrant blend. The skillful layering of color adds depth and texture, inviting the viewer to discover new details with each glance. Sinuous curves and luminous bursts capture the essence of movement and raw emotion, transforming the abstract into a hypnotic visual dance. This piece stands out for its chromatic boldness and its ability to evoke a unique emotional resonance, irresistibly drawing the viewer into its dynamic and expressive world.
Presentation
In a bold graphic style, JM Robert stencils faces on abstract backgrounds that echo the degraded, deteriorated effects of urban walls.
"The damaged facades of houses and buildings fascinate me. I've always felt strong emotions in front of the damaged walls, the ruins, they are my main source of inspiration. The background of the canvas must evoke the surface of an old wall.
This is achieved through the use of various materials, coatings and technique such as scraping and scratching the surfaces.
I am looking for my own aesthetic conception of the ruin within the very limited and constraining framework of the painting. For me, everything happens on the canvas as if drawing and colour no longer manage to combine to make a portrait.
It is this impossible assemblage, this dislocation that creates the painting, like an echo of our times."
