Elise Poinsenot

This figurative painting captures a moment of domestic complicity. Two figures come to life in an interior characterized by classically patterned wallpaper. The gaze settles on the spontaneous expression of a child, mouth open, facing a cluttered table.
The treatment of light emphasizes the tenderness of the moment. Color contrasts oppose the sobriety of the dark clothing with the brightness of the items placed on the furniture. Every detail, from the photograph frame in the background to the bottle set to the side, reinforces the narrative aspect of the scene.
The pictorial approach here explores memory and personal recollections. The brushwork precisely restores the atmosphere of an era, transforming an intimate snapshot into a visual narrative. The composition guides the eye toward the human interaction, at the center of a setting saturated with everyday details. This canvas is part of an exploration of reminiscence, where the image becomes the medium for a shared emotion. The entire scene unfolds against a background of ochre and brown tones.
