Description
Inspired by a photograph by Cecil Beaton, a portrait of the Danish actress Gwili Andre in the 1930s. A work mixing vintage and pop art. A female figure enveloped in delicate water lilies expressing a haunting nostalgia.
This intriguing artwork skillfully blends botanical elements with a retro portrait. The color palette, dominated by greens and blues, evokes an atmosphere that is both serene and nostalgic. At the center, a mysterious female face emerges from behind a delicate, veined leaf, reminiscent of a fan. Around it, stylized plants, including lunar-shaped water lily leaves, reinforce the connection between nature and memory. The handwritten phrase "I think of you constantly" adds an intimate dimension, transforming the work into a declaration of eternal love. This poetic composition explores the complex link between memory, nature, and emotion, captivating the viewer with its aesthetic appeal and depth.

Tian is a French artist of urban influences, living and working in Le Mans.
Tian is fascinated by human nature, which is his favorite subject. The ambivalence of the being, its fears, its anxieties, its contradictions and its joys represent for the artist a great ground of inspiration, in which he pick ups all day long. He works more precicely on the duality of characters, revealing thus all the paradoxes of human emotions, as well as on the duality of physical, romantic and conflicting interactions between two subjects. Communication with the body can be sensual, romantic, sexual, or on the contrary tense, dominating, enslaving.
Tian works with stencils, on the walls of big cities or on canvases. Le Mans remains his favorite playground, even through we can see his tag on the walls of Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, New York, Sao Paulo and Warsaw.
