Description
Based on a series of photographs of an unknown model photographed by Nina Leen, Life magazine 1947. Work using screen-printed patterns in the Pop Art style.
This captivating artwork, titled "Jezebel," is a complex composition blending photography and graphic elements. Dominated by sepia tones, it evokes a vintage aesthetic that immediately commands attention. At its center, an elegant woman with a distant gaze wears a black top adorned with a heart pierced by an arrow, a symbol of passion and betrayal. The montage juxtaposes several photographs of the same woman on the left, creating a visual narrative and psychological depth. The word "JEZEBEL," in bold type, reinforces the sense of mystery and seduction. The grainy texture of the image adds a tactile dimension, recalling memories of a bygone era. The contrast between the central stillness and the dynamism of the images on the left lends a subtle balance to the work, inviting the viewer to explore the multifaceted nature of this enigmatic figure.
Presentation
Tian is a French artist of urban influences, living and working in Le Mans.
Tian is fascinated by human nature, which is his favorite subject. The ambivalence of the being, its fears, its anxieties, its contradictions and its joys represent for the artist a great ground of inspiration, in which he pick ups all day long. He works more precicely on the duality of characters, revealing thus all the paradoxes of human emotions, as well as on the duality of physical, romantic and conflicting interactions between two subjects. Communication with the body can be sensual, romantic, sexual, or on the contrary tense, dominating, enslaving.
Tian works with stencils, on the walls of big cities or on canvases. Le Mans remains his favorite playground, even through we can see his tag on the walls of Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, New York, Sao Paulo and Warsaw.
