This work continues the “Trust” series, developing the idea of quiet emotional connection introduced in “Tender Presence I”, while shifting the focus toward a more introspective, inward state.
The dog is rendered in powdery pink tones, allowing it to merge even more with the surrounding space and lose clear boundaries. Its form feels light and almost dissolving, existing on the edge between appearance and disappearance. This creates a sense of fragility and instability — a state that could vanish at any moment.
The powdery pink palette enhances feelings of naivety, tenderness, and trust, while simultaneously making this emotional state especially vulnerable. Color here does not merely create atmosphere; it becomes a carrier of emotion — soft, quiet, yet unstable. The boundaries between figure and background blur, and the image begins to function as a delicate visual whisper.
The composition remains minimal, but the emotional tone becomes more internal and subtle. If “Tender Presence I” speaks of a calm and grounded presence, “Tender Presence II” conveys an almost intangible state — where trust exists as a feeling rather than something fixed or material.
In dialogue with the first work, this painting reveals another dimension of the theme: not only presence, but its fragility. It presents trust as a delicate condition — one that requires care, and that can disappear if disturbed.
