Biography

Galina Gataullina is a contemporary artist working across abstraction and figurative painting. She was graduated in 1990 from the Art and Graphic Faculty in Naberezhnye Chelny. After completing her studies, she taught painting at a children's art studio before moving into interior design and founding her own design studio, Ampir, in 2003.

This multidisciplinary background—fine art, education, and spatial design—shapes Galina's distinctive visual language. Her practice combines expressive abstraction with symbolic figurative imagery, allowing her to explore both emotional states and broader philosophical themes. She often works in series, developing ideas over time through rhythm, color, and movement.

Two major bodies of work define her current practice. Paradise Garden explores humanity's connection to nature and the animal world, reflecting on how modern life has distanced us from instinct, intuition, and the living environment. Through poetic figurative compositions, Galina invites viewers to return to these origins and rediscover a deeper relationship with the natural world. Her abstract series Movement examines life as a continuous flow—capturing contrasts, energy, and pauses through dynamic color and gesture. For Galina, abstraction becomes the most precise way to express the intangible: emotion, motion, and inner transformation.

Galina is a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Tatarstan. She has held multiple solo exhibitions and taken part in major group projects such as presentations at Vernadsky Museum in Moscow and exhibitions in Venice.

Her works are held the collection of the Vernadsky Museum in Moscow. She is also a prizewinner of several competitions, including Artist of the Year in the “New Names" category.

Through emotionally charged abstraction and symbolic figurative painting, Gataullina creates contemporary works that reconnect viewers with nature, movement, and inner awareness—offering art as both reflection and reminder of our shared human rhythm.
