Description
This is an original acrylic and ink painting by British artist Ed Sumner, renowned for his vibrant cityscapes and extraordinary use of colour and light. Offering a fresh perspective on London, the composition frames the city's skyline through a canopy of trees, creating a striking contrast between the energy of the urban landscape and the tranquillity of nature.
Sumner's signature palette of blues, brings the sky to life, capturing the fleeting drama of changing light and atmosphere. Layers of colour and expressive mark-making create depth and movement throughout the painting, drawing the viewer through the trees towards the luminous skyline beyond.
Balancing bold contemporary colour with a strong sense of place, celebrates those unexpected moments when nature and city life intersect. Rich in atmosphere and visual impact, the work is a compelling example of Sumner's distinctive style, transforming a familiar view into something both immersive and unforgettable.
Presentation
Ed Sumner is a professional contemporary artist with over 20 years of experience. Working from his beautiful studio in North West London, he creates original artwork for clients worldwide, including in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia.
Born in Yorkshire, Ed studied Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University. After a brief and ill-suited stint as a paper merchant, he established his own studio, focusing on producing his own work while also taking commissions from both private and commercial clients.
Over the years Ed has developed a passion for contemporary landscapes and his work in this genre has been sold and exhibited all over the World.
