Description
This captivating artwork features a stylized fish, rendered in a vibrant color palette. Geometric patterns and colorful segments overlap harmoniously, evoking a patchwork of maritime emotions. Dominant shades of blue and yellow create a striking contrast, accentuating the dynamism of the underwater scene. The textured background dotted with bubbles adds a dimension of depth and movement. Thick black lines define each segment, lending structure and clarity to the whole. The artist manages to capture the essence of an imaginary aquatic world, inviting the viewer to explore the beauty and complexity of marine life. The balance between abstract forms and figurative representation illustrates a unique and bold style, making this work both captivating and unforgettable.
Presentation
Since 1993, Pierre Mouné, born in 1951 (a former student of the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris), has devoted himself to painting. His diverse professional background has resulted in canvases that reflect his many influences, ranging from figurative to abstract.
His artistic activities in La Baule led him to create paintings on the theme of the sea and its environment (seascapes, sailboats, beach huts). He developed a series of small paintings dedicated to fish: these are stylized, colorful, and sometimes have a mischievous, sulky, aggressive, plump, or sunny expression. They are the culmination of a fun and enriching experience involving research into the composition of materials; the painting technique is mixed and textured.
