Silent body, 2026

Ara Aleqsanyan

This oil painting captures a moment of profound stillness. A female figure rests in a state of total surrender. She lies prone, draped in a deep navy garment that contrasts sharply with the surrounding warmth. The composition is dominated by a heavy crimson fabric. This red veil creates a dramatic backdrop, folding in rhythmic waves of shadow and light.
The artist employs a masterful control of anatomy and volume. Every curve is rendered with precision. The skin glows with a soft, natural luminosity. This creates a sense of intimate silence. The figure seems suspended between sleep and awakening.
In the background, glimpses of a domestic interior emerge. A muted wall and a framed landscape suggest a quiet sanctuary. These elements ground the scene in a tangible reality. The atmosphere evokes an existential harmony. It explores the delicate balance between the physical body and the surrounding space. The use of saturated tones adds a layer of emotional intensity. The gaze is drawn to the fluid lines of the body. The artwork concludes with the soft detail of the feet resting against the white border of the cloth.
