Where We Belong, 2026

Natalia Yangalycheva

This painting explores the idea that home is not simply a place, but a feeling created through genuine connection. The artist reflects on one of the most fundamental human longings—the desire to find people with whom we can share our lives without fear, pretense, or the need to become someone else.

Rather than focusing on extraordinary moments, the work celebrates the quiet beauty of togetherness. It suggests that a true sense of belonging is built through trust, emotional openness, and the small rituals of everyday life. These seemingly ordinary moments become the foundation of our deepest relationships and the place where love quietly takes root.

The artist invites the viewer to consider that the search for a kindred soul is, ultimately, a search for a space where we are fully accepted as we are. Such a connection is not about completing one another, but about creating an environment where both people can grow while remaining true to themselves.

Where We Belong is a reflection on the belief that the greatest feeling of home is found not in walls or landscapes, but in the presence of those who make us feel understood, valued, and free to simply be ourselves.
