Description
Pop aesthetics is expressed here with a marked graphic boldness. The gaze is immediately captured by a play of striking contrasts. Slender legs, wearing red heels, emerge from an iconic tin can. This ironic diversion dialogues with the mischievous presence of the Rose Panther.
The composition rests on a dense collage. The artist assembles fragments of old posters and advertisements. This superposition creates an urban and fragmented background. The use of acrylic and sprays brings immediate chromatic intensity.
The technique is distinguished by a bold mix of materials. Glitter and heterogeneous elements enrich the surface. The whole is set under a thick layer of epoxy resin. This varnish brings a glossy and deep effect.
The irregular format reinforces the raw aspect of the creation. This 2024 piece explores the codes of comics and popular culture. It transforms familiar icons into a surreal scene. The smooth finish emphasizes the precision of the visual details.
Presentation
After his marketing studies, Adriano Cuencas followed several trainings in the field of web development and graphic design. Digital art and internet projects have always been his passion. For years, he has created fascinating collages. Its motifs are mainly icons of cinema, rock, which connect with the memories of the comics of our childhood and our youth by releasing positive energies.
The artist of Brazilian origin loves colorful creations: "Colored images give life to everyday life", such is his conviction.
For his pop creations, Adriano Cuencas uses extracts from old posters and billboards.
He mixes materials, sprays, glitter, acrylic paint, stones, metal cuts and fabric to sublimate his works.
He glues, pulverizes and refines his motifs with confidence to make them fascinating compositions, finalized by an artistic work of irregular shapes. The surface is always sealed with layers of epoxy lacquer, which gives his works a "high gloss effect".
His compositions appear in private collections in Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, Singapore and Brazil.
A committed artist, who has supported Unicef for years.
