Description
This abstract oil painting captures a moment of raw emotional release. The composition vibrates with energy. Bold strokes of black and deep charcoal dominate the center. They create a dense, architectural core. This darkness is interrupted by sudden flashes of light. Vibrant yellows and soft pinks emerge from the depths. These colors suggest a hidden luminosity within the chaos.
The artist avoids rigid themes. Instead, the hand follows a direct spiritual impulse. The application of paint is thick and tactile. It creates a surface that feels alive. Broad, sweeping movements blend into tight, rhythmic clusters of pigment. This contrast evokes a tension between order and explosion.
The background remains airy and ethereal. Pale blues and muted greys provide a serene atmosphere. This lightness pushes the central mass forward. It creates a powerful sense of depth. The artwork functions as a visual meditation on the subconscious. It transforms internal feeling into a physical landscape. Every mark reflects a gesture of surrender to the creative process. The final result is a balanced dialogue between shadow and radiance.
Presentation
"My spirit becomes wonderfully and uniquely noble and, out of nowhere, the sense of variability which has an inexplicable strength embraces me and gives my existence some mystery and makes me the hero of my paintings. I humbly obey to the spirit within and surrender to the power of the world being created where I am allowed to exist and fulfill my mission. But only then can I feel that I exist and breathe. I wish I could stay there forever; in this surreal world, which is sometimes more real than reality itself; there, exists the proximity to God which becomes part of the fantastic world called art." - Moko Khachatryan
My adoration for art was ignited in me as early as I can remember; I believe I was 3 years old when I started painting. My father, who had himself dedicated his life to art, was most certainly the driving force behind my career choice, indeed.
I never go by a specific theme, or perhaps, very seldom. I let my strong drive for expression guide me every step of the way. It's all about delivering my feelings on my canvas; I allow my perception on various philosophical, sensual, emotional topics or even fears to flow through me and my hand does the rest. I believe thoughts can sometimes destroy emotions, hence, I try never to "question", when I paint.
Technique, style, medium; these are of course important, but those do not determine our artistic approach. We have expressions and for some, messages to relay - so we paint, draw, sculpt - in whichever way we are best fit to express, we work with; in my case, I use my brushes, colors and canvas. If you took those away from me, I'll find some other way to express my emotions.
