Breathing in spring, 2026

My new series “Mexico" is an attempt to feel the depth of human existence, in a space that has its own and unique cultural code. As an artist, I am constantly tempted to let this rhythm of colors, forms and traditions permeate me. I feel an inner kinship with this aesthetic, because it resonates with my own artistic worldview, inspires and fills me. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I see a lot in common between Mexican and Ukrainian folk cultures. Both are distinguished by their love for rich color (especially in women's clothing), craftsmanship in handmade products, decorative textiles, ceramics, ornamentation and embroidery. Despite the geographical distance, these cultures are united by the desire to transform everyday life into art.
This series is not so much about Mexico as a geographical place, but about a person: about their emotions: tenderness, love, strength, memory, the ability to preserve identity through tradition. Through color, ornament, craft, tradition, I try to see not the exotic, but the person with their inner world.
