Ville Portuaire, 2026

Janusz Kik

A vibrant coastal scene unfolds through thick, energetic brushstrokes. The artist captures a bustling port where architecture and nature merge. Warm ochre and golden tones dominate the facade of the buildings. These structures rise like monolithic blocks against a deep blue sky. White birds glide above, adding a sense of freedom and movement to the composition.
Below the skyline, a fleet of sailboats rests in the harbor. Their white hulls create a rhythmic pattern across the middle ground. The acrylic medium allows for a rich, tactile surface. Impasto techniques give the artwork a three-dimensional quality.
The water acts as a luminous mirror. Shimmering reflections stretch toward the viewer in long, vertical streaks. This interplay of light and shadow evokes the heat of a Mediterranean afternoon. The composition balances the solidity of the urban landscape with the fluidity of the sea. Every stroke conveys a feeling of serenity and timelessness. The piece stands as a modern interpretation of a classic seascape, blending geometric abstraction with atmospheric light.
