Somewhere Between Zero and One, 2026

Nina Narimanishvili

This mixed media composition unfolds as a tactile exploration of memory and fragments. The artist employs a rich gold background that evokes an ancient, weathered atmosphere. Layered textures create a rhythmic dialogue between structured grids and organic shapes. A bold, black-and-white polka dot form anchors the left side, contrasting with a delicate floral motif on the right.
Numeric sequences and cryptic text float across the surface. These elements suggest a coded language or a lost archive. The use of handmade paper adds a physical depth to the artwork. Small, precise details like a solitary bird and a red cross introduce a sense of narrative mystery.
The lower section transitions into a dark, striated landscape. This heavy base balances the airy, fragmented nature of the upper half. Vibrant red accents pierce through the neutral tones to guide the viewer's eye. Every collage element feels intentionally placed yet spontaneous. The result is a sophisticated balance of Pop Art energy and figurative abstraction. The piece concludes with a series of vertical lines that mimic a barcode or a musical score.
