Where Summer Lingers, 2026

Natalia Yangalycheva

Presentation: Stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang.
In this work, the artist explores a state of inner freedom that emerges when we allow ourselves to step away from the relentless pace of everyday life. The painting is not about a beach or a vacation, but about the value of time that truly belongs to oneself.

Each figure inhabits a private emotional space while remaining connected to the presence of others. It reflects on the modern individual's desire to preserve personal boundaries without withdrawing from the world. Physical proximity does not require interaction; instead, it becomes a quiet form of coexistence where everyone is free to experience their own thoughts, memories, and emotions.

The vivid pink accents do not describe reality literally but serve as a symbol of vitality, joy, and the ability to find beauty in ordinary moments. The balance between the architectural structure of the composition and the expressive painterly language reflects the ongoing search for harmony between external order and inner freedom.

The work invites the viewer to consider that true rest begins not when we change our surroundings, but when we allow ourselves to be fully present in the moment.
