Between Solitude and Connection, 2026

Support: Stretched canvas

In this painting, the artist explores the delicate balance between solitude and connection, revealing how we can inhabit our own private world while remaining emotionally connected to others.

Two women occupy the same intimate space, yet each seems immersed in her own thoughts. Their relaxed postures and hidden faces suggest a desire to withdraw from the outside world, to escape expectations, and to experience the quiet freedom of simply being oneself. Surrounded by oversized cacti, books, and deep, contrasting shades of pink and green, they create an atmosphere that feels both protective and slightly surreal.

The cacti become a metaphor for personal boundaries — a reminder that we sometimes need distance to preserve our inner peace. Yet solitude does not necessarily mean loneliness. We can be close to others without needing constant interaction, sharing a space while allowing each other the freedom to exist independently.

Through expressive gestures and bold colors, the artist reflects on the importance of personal space, emotional independence, and the quiet comfort of knowing that connection does not require us to give up ourselves.
