Crimson Halo, 2025

Yana Gorelik

A dreamlike vision unfolds through delicate watercolour washes. Two ethereal faces emerge from a shared, organic form. They lean toward one another in a moment of suspended anticipation. A massive, crescent-shaped structure crowns their heads. Its reddish hues suggest something biological, perhaps a shell or a horn. The composition balances surrealism with a profound sense of intimacy.
Soft transitions of blue and green create a misty, otherworldly atmosphere. The background feels fluid and atmospheric. Vertical lines subtly divide the space, adding a rhythmic structure to the composition. Each face possesses a serene, timeless expression. Their pale skin contrasts with the earthy tones of their lower forms.
The artwork explores the boundary between the human and the fantastic. It evokes a feeling of quiet longing and mystical connection. The transparency of the medium allows light to permeate the figures. This creates a ghostly, luminous quality. Every brushstroke enhances the fragile nature of this encounter. The scene culminates in a tension that remains unresolved, captured in a singular, poetic gaze.
