Dracula, 2023

Hugo Rosell Barbie

A bold exploration of surrealist form. The composition balances stark contrasts. A deep pink backdrop meets a sterile white void. Central to the scene is a mysterious figure. He wears a black hat and a structured coat. His face is a kaleidoscopic mask of green and red stripes. This focal point challenges the viewer with its symmetry and intensity. To the right, a distorted silhouette leans in. It wears a rounded red cap. The interaction feels theatrical. Tension vibrates between these two enigmatic presences.
Linear elements guide the eye upward. A vertical ladder of white rectangles climbs the left side. It ends in a floating, eye-like shape. Geometric shapes float in the upper register. A yellow triangle frames a heavy black oval. The artist uses precise lines to create an architectural sense of space. Every stroke feels intentional. The palette is limited but powerful. It evokes a dreamlike atmosphere where logic is suspended. This artwork blends figurative elements with abstract symbolism. It transforms the human image into a series of graphic signs. The result is a captivating study of identity and mystery. It concludes with a delicate hand gesture in the lower right corner.
