Description
A vertical portrait that captures the suspended instant of a dream. A woman's face, seen from a slightly low angle, head tilted back, eyelids closed, gives itself over to a deep reverie. The parted lips, the raised chin, the taut line of the neck: everything in this pose evokes surrender, silent ecstasy, or perhaps the weightlessness of someone drifting between waking and sleep.
Around her, the hair erupts into an immense crown, spread out like a solar aura. Brown, bronze-gold and near-black strands escape in swirls in every direction, stirred by an invisible breath. This is where the painting's signature lies: each strand is heightened with raised strokes of gold, applied thickly, in filaments and droplets, catching the real light of the room. Depending on the angle and the lighting, the viewer sees the hair flare up and fade away — the work breathes.
The background, worked in gradations of powdery pink, sienna and cloudy ochre, remains deliberately undefined. There is neither setting nor horizon: only a warm, hazy atmosphere, a dreamlike space in which the body seems to float. At the bottom of the painting, a garment — or an adornment — takes shape in undulating golden arabesques, like a lace of liquid metal extending the movement of the hair.
The title, ("Golden Dreams"), speaks of both the material and the intent. Gold here is not an ornament of wealth but the colour of dreaming: what shines in the darkness of the inner night, what lingers of a dream upon waking. J. Hanter combines academic realism in the treatment of the face — subtle modelling, nuanced flesh tones, assured anatomy — with an expressive gesture and ornamental abstraction in the hair, creating a tension between the precision of the portrait and the freedom of the brushstroke.

J. Hanter, born in 1963 in Spain, is the pseudonym of a contemporary self-taught artist. Remarkably talented, J. Hanter has embarked on an international artistic career, exhibiting her works in Berlin, Augsburg, and Naples, notably at the Torre Annunziata. There, the artist has achieved critical acclaim.
In 2014, J. Hanter moved to the Murcia region.
His work falls within the contemporary realm, exploring color, narrative, and figurative abstraction. According to Hanter, art should convey a "deep connection with expression and narrative," with each work conveying a "deeper meaning, capturing moments of beauty and emotion in a timeless way."
J. Hanter has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, and his works are now sold internationally.
