Description
A dreamlike composition where nature transforms under the gaze. This icy landscape plays with perceptions. The layers of ice rise like a natural architecture sculpted by time.
The brush explores the phenomenon of pareidolia here. Through the intertwining of shapes and shadows, a form seems to emerge from the rock and the frost. The gaze oscillates between the reality of a polar block and the evocation of a female mouth.
The color palette favors shades of violet and mauve. These cool tones create a serene, almost unreal atmosphere. A red star, suspended in a hazy sky, brings a striking contrast and draws the eye to the horizon.
The reflection of the massif on the still water accentuates the symmetry of the scene. This oil painting, made in 2026, invites slow contemplation to reveal the secrets hidden in the matter. The precision of the brushstroke emphasizes every fissure of the white and gray relief.
Presentation
Art, for me, is an inner journey and shouldn't simply stop at the boundaries of realism, but rather cross that barrier and plunge us into the very heart of the imagination, of surrealism. We must appeal to the imagination, the impossible, the unreal through the phenomenon of pareidolia in order to captivate the viewer's attention. By employing pareidolia, or the art of seeing something else, a cognitive phenomenon combining the interplay of shapes, shadows, and light, Saâdi creates a kind of optical illusion that leads the viewer to linger over his canvases in order to understand what lies hidden within. Using pareidolia as an artistic and poetic tool, Saâdi draws us into his artistic universe where landscapes and figures intertwine. Surrealism remains his central theme, where feminine beauty echoes the beauty of nature.
Farid resides in France but exhibits regularly throughout the world (Japan, Belgium, France, USA, etc.).
